Dan Whaley

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Dan Whaley is a founder, operator, investor, and board member with nearly three decades of experience building foundational technology platforms in Silicon Valley. He has been founder, CEO, Chairman and/or lead investor, of six companies through multiple stages of growth, including two public exits and two private exits, with a particular focus on SaaS, marketplaces, open source software, and enterprise-scale transaction systems.

Dan founded GetThere (NASDAQ: GTHR), the first SaaS platform and a foundational company in the online travel industry. GetThere went public in 1999 and was acquired by Sabre in 2000, where its core platform continues to serve as global infrastructure for corporate travel. More recently, Dan is the co-founder and Chairman of BTP Automation, which applies AI and automation to enterprise travel procurement. He was also foundational at companies like Getaround (NYSE: GETR), which created the peer-to-peer carsharing space; Sauce Labs, which pioneered open source functional testing; and Hypothesis, the nonprofit open-source project which led the W3C Web annotation data model and implementation that serves thousands of universities around the world.

At AmForge, Dan leads company execution, strategy, and scaling. His role is to bring operating discipline to a domain that has historically been dominated by slow procurement, fragmented projects, opaque commodity flows, and siloed government programs. AmForge’s execution model depends on that capability: building a durable operating platform that can coordinate complex stakeholders, track performance, align incentives, and move from concept to execution at startup speed.
